Headings start below h1
This page has headings but no h1, so the outline starts halfway down: a visitor using a screen reader hears a section of a document whose main heading is missing. Reported only when other headings are present - a page with no headings at all may be a list or a gallery, and telling you to add an h1 to something that is not a document would be advice, not a finding.
The markup we quote
<h2>Welcome to our services</h2>
Every finding quotes the exact markup responsible, so you can confirm it by viewing the page source — you never have to take our word for it.
How to fix it
- Make the first heading on the page an h1 that describes it; in most themes the page title already is one, so this usually means a template that hides it.
- If the page genuinely has no document structure — a gallery, a list — removing the headings is more honest than inventing an h1 to satisfy a checker.
When we might be wrong
We report this only when the page has headings but no h1. A page with no headings at all is a different problem and not one a checker should guess at.

If the finding is wrong, tell us with the page and the line. A wrong finding costs more trust than a missing one, and it is the defect we treat as urgent.
