Heading levels skip
Screen reader users navigate by headings; jumping from h1 to h4 breaks the outline of the page.
The markup we quote
<h2>Services</h2>
<h4>Repairs</h4>
Every finding quotes the exact markup responsible, so you can confirm it by viewing the page source — you never have to take our word for it.
How to fix it
- Use heading levels in order and do not skip: if the next thing is a sub-section of an h2, it is an h3.
- If you want smaller text, that is CSS, not a lower heading level — heading level is structure, size is style.
- In the block editor, the heading block's level is in the toolbar; it is easy to set by eye rather than by structure.
When we might be wrong
We only report a skip between two headings that exist. A page with one h2 and nothing else is unusual but not a skip.

If the finding is wrong, tell us with the page and the line. A wrong finding costs more trust than a missing one, and it is the defect we treat as urgent.
