Link built out of JavaScript
href="javascript:..." cannot be opened in a new tab, copied, or reliably activated with a keyboard, and many screen readers announce it as a link that goes nowhere.
The markup we quote
<a href="javascript:void(0)">Open</a>
Every finding quotes the exact markup responsible, so you can confirm it by viewing the page source — you never have to take our word for it.
How to fix it
- Use a real URL, or use a
<button>if it triggers an action rather than navigating. - Links that go nowhere are announced as links and do nothing when somebody tries to open them in a new tab.
When we might be wrong
A link with href="#" and a script attached is the same problem in disguise; we report the obvious form.

If the finding is wrong, tell us with the page and the line. A wrong finding costs more trust than a missing one, and it is the defect we treat as urgent.
